{General's Shield} {All right!}

Finally bought myself a General's Shield now that I am level 69. What an awesome shield. Fought with my static party for the first time last night since getting it, and what a difference. It used to be after my RNG and MNK's skillchain of {Dragon Kick} >> {Arching Arrow} >> {Light}, I'd have to Flash, Cure III, Provoke, and sometimes Sentinel+Defender+Rampart to get hate back and keep it, or just use Cover on the Ranger. Since getting this shield, I have little difficulty getting hate back after their skillchain, and rarely even have to use Flash. Sometimes the mob doesn't even turn after their skillchain! My Ranger was very impressed, as well.

Enmity+ rocks.

I my General's Shield too but I havent had the heart to sell my old shield though..

I haven't fought any beasts yet, but that will be nice to take advantage of the beast killer ability.

Flash should'nt be something that you use only to gain hate. Not only does it help gain and maintain hate but the hits avoided as a result can help greatly.

I know this already.

I was just trying to contrast how I lost my hate easily after a skillchain before I got the shield, and now I don't. Flash was a vital part of me re-gaining my hate back after the skillchain before I got the shield. Flash still remains an important part of sparing myself a few hits, allowing me easily throw in a nice Cure III or IV, and retaining hate.

You so quickly assumed I don't know how to use Flash.

I meant it in the context of getting hate back when I've totally lost it after the skillchain and have to possibly start using multiple job abilities just to get the hate back. I guess I should have said, "and rarely even have to use Flash to do so." But whatever. My point came across totally wrong. This was supposed to be about the Enmity+ characteristics of a really nice shield, and how that Enmity+ changes the hate characteristics of a fight. Instead, I feel like I'm getting other PLDs trying to say I suck because of something silly I said about Flash, and they've never even see me play the game. :sweat:

I finally got to wear mine last night. My PT was fighting cocks and purple kittens at Kuftal. I felt the fights were rather short so I wasnt really able to measure how big the +2 enmity and +3 chr affected my hate holding.

Its a nice shield, thats for sure and it feels nice to sport a new shield after using Royal's since lvl 55.
